I have had many years expereince in that area and look forward to sharing and discussing those experiences with you. Wishing you strength and clarity of mind in you difficult time. Best wishes.

  3. Thanks Corinda,I never realised choosing a background would be so difficult :) no doubt ill change it again!! I wanted to have moving images on like I’ve seen on other blogs do you know how to do this?
Really pleased we can discuss community dance, I’m sure I’ll learn a lot from you. I am new within this area but am very keen to promote dance working outside the normal curriculum with the necessity to qualify students with qualifications but rather dance experiences.
Stoke-On-Trent works largely in conjunction with the local Ambassadors Theatre which helps children to be healthy and enjoy and achieve but particularly make a positive contribution to their community by taking part in its activities. I initially got involved in community dance when I came across a very talented student but due to class prices were unable to attend any form of training, I set up a community dance workshop which then opened the doors and allowed students from all social backgrounds the opportunity to access dance. I base my community dance workshops on contemporary style focussing on the identity of the individual rather than technical ability, which proves to be successful.
My only worry for community dance is once they have shown progress and have good understanding of dance, funding is a problem to further their training to a vocational school. I have searched scholarship schemes and looked at funding options through the arts council.
I look forward to reading your views on this?
    :)
